Emporium Welcoming Fresh Food Fans
The Emporium is open with asparagus from the Fisher and Esh farm in Lancaster County, spring onions from Annville and herbs from Sam Stoltzfus’ greenhouse in Gap, Lancaster County.
We’re looking forward to having some of the early crops like radishes in a week or two. (If it turns cool, everything slows down.) Strawberries are probably three weeks away, later in May. We currently have some rhubarb.
We are offering gluten-free flour and other items for people who can’t handle wheat and other sources of gluten in their diets well.
We’ll be doing canning and pickling of asparagus and other products we may have in excess; watch for those offerings around Labor Day.
Our olive oil is imported from Italy and flavored and processed in California.
Watch for our produce selections to change rapidly as we approach Memorial Day. All our meats – beef, pork and chicken – are grass fed. And we have wild caught salmon, as well.

I have been waiting for a real market with meats from grass fed animals to show up in the area. I am very excited, can’t wait to get in and see the market and what is available.
We have been shopping at the Real Food Emporium since it opened and haven’t needed to buy much at other grocery stores since then. The eggs, chicken, beef, yogurt, and cheeses are far better than any other we have bought produced in this area. The greens stay fresh for more than a week and really taste good. Last week we tried the corn macaronis (gluten free and delicious), and look forward to using the organic Himalayan grain blend and other interesting dry products which we purchased. The wild caught Alaskan salmon waits in our freezer for a special occasion. We just finished a dozen “different varieties” of bagels and can’t wait to stock up again this week.
