Palmyra Real Food Emporium

With the local strawberry season over, strawberries are being replaced this week by cherries – red and yellow sweet cherries and sour cherries. There are apricots, as well. The red sweet cherries are from southern Lancaster County and the sour and yellow sweet cherries, as well as the apricots, are from the Eli-Gingrich orchard in Palmyra.

The Emporium’s new “cold room” is operational now. Tom Maurer will be rolling the produce display tables in there for Friday night storage so that Saturday’s produce will be virtually as fresh as the day before.

It’s worth repeating that the Emporium offers only produce in season and grown locally. That’s the way to insure fresh-tasting, nutritional eating.
